How to use metal detectors

Metal detectors have become one of the most sought-after devices by many people interested in detecting gold, metals and treasures
Before leaving the method of optimal use of the devices, we must know the idea of the work.

The idea of making a metal detector

The idea of a metal detector is based on electromagnetic analysis technology, where designers use electrical coils to produce a magnetic field. This magnetic field passes through different metals in the ground or in different objects, and when the magnetic field passes through the metal, changes in the magnetic field are produced. This allows the device to read these changes and identify and detect the type and location of the metal.

Metal detectors use one of three technologies:

Very Low Frequency (VLF) technology: This technology uses very low frequencies in the range of 3 kHz to 30 kHz, and relies on producing a magnetic field that passes through metals, and the changes in the magnetic field that occur when it passes through metals are read.
Pulsed induction (PI) technology: This technology uses short pulses of electrical current at high frequencies, and relies on reading changes in the magnetic field that are produced when the electrical current is cut off.
Pulse Frequency Oscillation (BFO) technology: This technology uses very high frequencies in the range of 100 kHz to 30 MHz, and relies on producing a high frequency of sound that is sent to the research coil. When the sound is cut off, the research coil begins to produce a short high frequency that is used to read Changes in the magnetic field.
The appropriate technology for the device is chosen according to the type of metal being detected, how the gold detector works, its depth and location, and the conditions surrounding the search. These technologies are used in the portable metal detector and in the ground and industrial metal detectors.

To use a metal detector, follow these simple steps:

Read the user guide carefully: The user guide will tell you how to operate your device and how to interpret the signals it emits.
Adjust your device settings: Your device settings will vary depending on the type of metal you are searching for and the depth of detection you desire.
Select an area to search: Choose an open, relatively level area. Avoid searching in areas where there are a lot of unwanted metals, such as mines or electrical wires.
Move your device over the area: Hold the search head at a 45 degree angle to the ground and move it slowly back and forth. When a metal object is detected, you will hear an audible signal or see a visual signal.
Locate the metal object: Follow the audible or visual signal to its source. Once you find the metal object, use a shovel or other tool to dig it out.
